Reaffirming its commitment to serving the Qatari community across various sectors, the Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) has extended its support to the inaugural edition of the “Shafallah | Bridging Nations: Weaving Connections Through Art” initiative. Organized by the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, in collaboration with Bridging Nations and the Academic Society of Arts, Sciences, and Literature in Paris, the initiative was launched in coordination with the French Embassy in Qatar. The event was attended by Her Excellency Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, and His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

The initiative aims to celebrate artists and creators with disabilities, highlighting the significance of community partnerships in enhancing their lives. It provides a platform for them to showcase their talents to the public and be recognized for their artistic contributions in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Commenting on QIIB’s support for the initiative, Dr. Abdulbasit Ahmed Al-Shaibei, CEO of Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB), stated: “We are pleased to always be at the forefront of supporting priority social causes. We highly appreciate the role Shafallah plays and reaffirm our support for its initiatives. This support reflects our steadfast dedication to social responsibility and to empowering those in need.”

“We commend this pioneering initiative, which carries both local significance and international engagement through the participation of the French Embassy in this event. By fostering cultural exchange and promoting the values of cooperation and partnership in their many facets, the initiative takes on even greater importance,” he added.

Dr. Al Shaibei further stated: “We are also deeply moved by the inspiring themes of the selected artworks, which highlight the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This thoughtful gesture by the organizers is truly commendable, as sustainability has become a key issue on the agendas of various sectors, including banking. It underscores the importance of a collective commitment to sustainability worldwide, given its profound impact on the future of people.”

Dr. Al Shaibei expressed confidence that the initiative’s outcomes will have a significant impact on encouraging various institutions and organizations to strengthen their efforts in integrating persons with disabilities into society. This initiative will provide assistance and support to this valuable group, as well as others, enriching the community, nurturing its potential, and helping talents and entrepreneurs achieve success.”

It is worth noting that QIIB has launched several pioneering initiatives in social responsibility, including supporting various organizations and institutions that add value to society and actively contribute to the comprehensive renaissance Qatar is experiencing, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
