Requirements

  • Customer must attend in person to one of QIIB’s branches
  • Minimum age is 18 years old for a Qatari customers, and is 21 years old for an Expatriate
  • Original and valid Qatari ID must be presented
  • Salary certificate letter is required in case customer would like to have a cheque book

 

Account Documentation for GCC Nationals

Within the framework of GCC agreements and the principle of reciprocity, nationals of GCC countries may open a savings account using their national ID card or passport. This category of customers is classified as non-resident customers.

A current account may be opened, provided there is proof of their association with business activities in the State of Qatar (e.g., as partners in businesses in the State of Qatar).

The account can be opened using the national ID card of the individual’s country of origin or a passport bearing their personal or national ID number. The account opening application for non-resident GCC nationals must be approved by the branch manager. Additionally, approval from the Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime Department must be obtained before opening the account and after providing the required information and documentation, as follows:

  • Additional information about the purpose of opening the account.
  • Additional information about the customer’s income sources and expected account activity.
  • Workplace address, including contact details, job title, company name, and date of appointment.
  • A completed Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) form.
  • Passport and national ID card.
  • Proof of residence.
  • Proof of income sources and ownership of assets.
  • Salary certificate/proof of legal capacity to own the legal entity.
  • A six-month account statement.
