Dr al-Shaibei: We are proud that HE the Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al-Marri honoured QIIB for the role played by the Bank in implementing plans for localizing jobs in the banking sector.

QIIB was honoured at a high-level ceremony organised by the Ministry of Labour for the companies and establishments that have excelled in the field of job localisation in the private sector, which was held recently with the presence of HE Dr. Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri, the Minister of Labour.
Mr. Ali Hamad Al Musaifri, Head of the Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Sector at QIIB, received an honour shield from HE the Minister of Labour, in recognition of QIIB being among the entities that are providing the best training programs suitable for the national labour and which have achieved a high percentage of job succession and Qatarisation and higher reliance on national labor.
In addition, HE the Minister of Labour granted an honor shield to Ms. Samah al-Dhafiri, Human Resources Officer at QIIB, as she is among the category of HR managers and distinguished employees, and the most cooperating with the Ministry of Labour and entities concerned with localisation.
Commenting on the occasion, QIIB CEO Dr Abdulbasit Ahmed al-Shaibei said, “We are proud that HE the Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al-Marri honoured QIIB for the role played by the Bank in implementing plans for localizing jobs in the banking sector. We stress that we will continue to apply our strategy in the field of human resources, which focuses on both male and female Qataris with an aim to empower them through various jobs within the bank’s structure to enable them gain various types of expertise. This will in turn help them succeed in the banking sector and serve the national economy, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030”.
He said, “We welcome nationals in various grades of jobs within the bank and we will ensure to provide them with proper training and qualification opportunities. We will grant them the best employment benefits and opportunities to move up the career ladder to reach leadership positions, in a way that will help them settle in banking positions and increase the rate of Qatari nationals’ contribution in this sector”.
He noted, “QIIB has set ambitious plans in the field of job localisation and launched employment days, wherein, employment contracts were directly signed with male and female Qataris. The Bank’s objectives in this aspect have always been far from the goals of achieving immediate gains, but rather looking at long-term investments in the capabilities and talents of citizens. We have established many partnerships with local universities in an aim to qualify, train, and upgrade the professional level of Qatari employees.
“QIIB also considered the welfare of students and ensured to provide them with training opportunities during their academic years. At QIIB, we have a well-established tradition known to all Banks, which is to welcome and support Qatari trainees, while opening job opportunities for them with the bank they desire”.
“QIIB will continue to implement its plans and strategies related to human resources in line with the government instructions and plans, and it will always be at the forefront of the entities, which cooperate with the Ministry of Labour and other bodies concerned to support and empower male and female Qataris in a way that serves the development process and the Qatari community,” al-Shaibei added.
For his part, Mr. Ali Hamad al-Museifri, Head of the Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Sector at QIIB said, “At QIIB we are pleased to have achieved high rates in the field of job succession and localisation, and high reliance on national labour. In particular, we are pleased to be among the entities that cooperates with the Ministry of Labor and the government entities concerned with localisation, which reflects our commitment to implement the Board directives and plans in the field of job localisation”.
“Our programmes for attracting locals are ongoing and strengthened everyday by the experiences we gain. We are entering into partnerships with educational institutions and establishing liaisons with the labour market in order to direct male and female Qataris to suitable specialisations in the banking sector ,which will assist them in choosing their appropriate line of business that will serve their employment and career paths”.
Finally, al-Musaifri noted, “QIIB will continue to cooperate strongly with the Ministry of Labour and the relevant entities in matters that are critical for the employment, training, and qualification of locals, in order to achieve the targeted results according to the specified timelines”.
